The map below shows the squares currently surveyed under the 5 year
Breeding Birds Survey. Each colour refers to a chosen year; selecting a square that has been
coloured will display the four-figure grid reference and the total number
of species observed. In addition, to add a bit of general interest, comments on the surveys
made by the surveyor are included. Sometimes the comments relate to
the types of bird seen, though often they briefly describe the type
of habitat encountered or mention observations of other species, such
as Mountain Hare.
